About

I’m a retired system administrator who spent years navigating the evolution of IT infrastructure. My career started in programming, moved into system administration, and eventually landed in infrastructure management. Now that I’ve retired, I finally have time to focus on what I’ve always wanted to dive deeper into: Linux.

These days, I’m working on full stack Linux system administration. With no deadlines or corporate pressures, I can explore and learn at my own pace.

My main distributions are Debian and Ubuntu, though I’m familiar with Red Hat derivatives as well. My daily driver is a Debian desktop, and I keep an old laptop around specifically for distro hopping. So far, I’ve tested MX Linux, Mint, and Siduction Linux on it. Next up: Devuan.

x386.org is my space to document what I’m learning, share configurations that work, and contribute back to the Linux community that’s given me so much over the years. After decades of working with these systems professionally, retirement has given me the freedom to explore them on my own terms.
